MarySaxophone : Okay, a more serious post than normal. Today is scoliosis awareness day. Scoliosis is something i’ve lived with for now 5 years and it’s not easy, it’s painful and has many mental effects. I was diagnosed in february 2015, and most currently have a 48 degree curve, 56 degrees at it’s worst, and i am on the boundary of needing spinal fusion surgery. Scoliosis is found within 2-3% of the population, yet so few people know what it is. Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that creates a S or C shape. Treatment is generally monitoring, back bracing and surgery from 40 degrees upwards. most common symptoms are:one shoulder higheruneven and rotating hips, back pain and respiratory problemThere’s things you can’t do, such as sleeping on your back and some sports #scoliosis #scoliosisawareness
