A nurse went out to help his neighbors
Trying to do what’s right.
A cold day in Minnesota, how quickly the winds can change
The man walked over to protect the bullied,
And for that grace he died.
A cold day in Minnesota, like so many before,
But on this day in that frozen city, the monsters knocked down the door.
A cold day in Minnesota, a story I think you’ve seen
Some leaders claim that he deserved it,
But that’s not the truth we see.
On a cold day in Minnesota, the feds pushed him to the ground
He kept his hands up, back towards them,
Then they shot him down.
A cold day in Minnesota, We gather round the fire.
On this day in our troubled country, we know who’s being a liar.
A cold day in Minnesota, I have 1 more thing to say.
The moment when you care for others,
Shouldn’t be your dying day.
