: I wanted to show the three levels of modification I use for push ups to help newbies or those of us without a huge amount of upper body strength!
I always try to start with level 3 (a full push up) for as many reps as I can. When I start to feel it in my back or I can't push up again I switch down to level 2 (elevated upper body) and then when that's too much I switch to on my knees.
Make sure you watch your form at all times - straight back, tight abs and hands directly beneath and slightly wider than your shoulders.
