: This weekend was full of valuable lessons for my girl : 1) : gymnastics is a subjective sport - every meet there are different judges looking at/for different things..you can go from getting scores that give you your highest all-around score of 37.15 to your lowest score of 35.975 from one meet to the next.. even when you think it was, for example, your best floor routine you've yet to do, the judge watching you on that given day may not think so.. 2) : gymnastics is somewhat unpredictable - when you feel like you've climbed to the top of the mountain, you've got your routines down, you're scoring well, and even winning..you can still have an off day, filled with uncharacteristic wobbles & bobbles..you can't get "comfortable" .. Which ties in to lesson 3) : you must be focused..at ALL times.. 4) : gymnastics is not a sprint, it's a marathon - this sport is a day in, day out process, with no end in sight until you sign that college commitment letter (which is a LONG journey for a 6 year old! lol)..you must be equipped with perseverance that takes you back into the gym after a disappointing meet and lights a fire to do better next week, rather than whollow in self pity and give up.. And finally, 5) : whether you get 1st place, or 6th place, you're value does not change..your family is just as proud of you, your coaches still believe in you, and everyone loves you just as much! ❤️ #gymnastjaydyn #vaultchampion #9.525 #mysuperstar #loveher #gobrandys
