dawnsarmy: Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love the magic and beauty of the season. Everyone in my house gets a spring in their step and a warm feeling in their hearts. For moms it is that, plus the responsibility of making a lot of magic happen which can really kill the chance to actually ENJOY the moments and take time to revel in the sacredness of the season. A couple of days ago, we gathered the family for our 12 days of Christmas goals. We had really great ideas to keep the true meaning of Christmas at the forefront of our minds and hearts. Today I felt all of my lofty goals become kind of overwhelming, especially with a huge snow storm becoming an all day affair. Instead of shutting down, (which sometime I just do) I got busy. I made dinner this morning, meal planned for the next two weeks, wrapped presents this afternoon, fed the kids by 4pm, cleaned up dinner, did homework, got lunch ready for the next day. Then I was surprised with a text that dance was cancelled (thank you Jesus and Rocky Mountain Dance) so I whipped up a quick FHE - Christmas Shopping!! It was such a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit, between getting 10 inches of snow (still going strong) sibling/angel tree shopping, Christmas lights w/ homemade hot cocoa, and ended it with some scripture reading about the life of Christ. I'm so glad I decided not to shut down today, and instead channeled my inner mommy warrior. Make the moments count, for the littles are not little for long my beautiful friends. ❤️
