: When it comes to activating those large lower body muscles, Squats are THE best overall. Not only do the variations work the entire leg and core muscles, they will also assist you in being flexible enough for every day functions of life. Here I am demonstrating a basic squat. The stance is very important! Not performing them correctly can be a safety hazard. Squats should be hard work but should not cause pain in your back or joints. To do: 1. Stand at shoulder width apart or wider and your chest out(wider stances have been known to work more muscles and assist when going lower) 2. Sit back and down as though you are about to sit in a chair. 3.lower yourself to where your thighs are parallel to the floor 4. Focus on placing your weight at the center or heel of your foot. Not on toes or ball of foot! 5. Bring yourself back up to starting position. Beginners: you may want to hold a weight in your hands and near your chest or under your chin. This will force you to go down with a much better posture. (I'm demonstrating these too) #trainer #squats #sweatitout #mj #offthewall #bodybydawn
