: This is the second post of the day for #TTAeducation. Check out @toptierathletics for the first post. This post is an advancement of that exercise for strength/stability Thursday. Once you have the appropriate ankle strength and stability, you can perform this single leg cone touch variation. By adding the medball held overhead, you are extending your lever arm and therefore requiring the stationary ankle to stabilize even more. It needs to counter balance not only the longer lever, but the added weight as well. Additionally as you are performing the exercise, the natural thing is to focus on the medball itself, allowing your body to control the stabilizing ankle off of sheer reaction and not anticipatory thought.
